Dog Behaviour Advice

Behavioural Modification and Rehabilitation

Our behavioural modification and rehabilitation programmes are bespoke to the specific problematic behaviours your dog may be exhibiting.   I will aim to help you fully understand the psychology behind your dogs behaviour and put together practical steps to make the change for a more positive, relaxed and happy dog.   I only use positive, kind methods based on the most up to date scientific principles of behaviour modification that will help to reduce stress, and build your dogs confidence and relationship with you.   I will work closely with your vet, and provide full behavioural reports and training plans in addition to practical training sessions together.  Please see the behavioural page for more information:

Behavioural issues we can help relieve:

  • Separation Anxiety
  • Guarding and Protective Behaviours
  • Territorial Behaviours and/or alert barking
  • Inappropriate play with other dogs
  • Lead Reactivity
  • Rescue and Re-homed dogs – transitioning into the new home, re-socialising and rehabilitation as well as training
  • Fears or phobias (including noise sensitivity)
  • Sibling Rivalry (multi-dog households)
  • Cooperative care (for grooming and vet care)
  • Building safe and positive relationships with children

We aspire to help owners understand the ‘how and why’ fun and positive training methods are so effective, using them in the right way to encourage good behaviour and enhance the dog and owner relationship.

What our clients say

I cannot rate walkies and waggietails highly enough. When I first came to London my dog Charlie had a terrible recall, as well as resource guarding and lead reactivity. After walking with W&W for a few months his recall is one of the best in the class and now with Paula’s hard work his resource guarding & reactivity have massively decreased. From walkies to behavior Paula has it all covered and I would not trust anybody else with Charlie.

I am absolutely delighted with Walkies and Waggietails Puppy School. My pug Patrick was four months old when he joined Paula’s classes and by the end of the course he had properly learned to sit, lie down, stay, leave it, walk to heel, and just about everything he could possibly need to take him into adulthood. The classes were a lot of fun, very relaxed and Patrick loved every second. I can’t recommend them enough.

Paula and the W&W team are simply the best! I have two very young babies and waking our beloved wellie simply isn’t achievable most days! Knowing that he is being not only walked but played with, exercised, trained and loved every day is such a weight off my mind! (And eases the guilt a little!!) it is also brilliant to know that I can call them at the drop of a hat (often first thing in the morning after a bad night!) and they always make space for us. wellie adores Paula and sits watching the front door from 9am every morning waiting for her. Her enthusiasm and passion for all the dogs in her care is utterly remarkable and I have recommended her to friends, family & strangers in the street! I don’t believe any other team offer the same dedication and devotion to their dogs.

Becky Lennox

We first brought our Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy to the Puppy Socialisation classes and immediately discovered a world of knowledge we’d been a bit blind to. Since those early days we’ve continued training with Paula and it’s been a brilliant experience – both for Nala and for us. Paula is always super enthusiastic and incredibly patient and encouraging. I would highly recommend that anyone with a pup, or an older dog for that matter, gets on one of Paula’s courses. It’s a highly rewarding experience as well as taking some of those stresses about training away. Great fun, great environment, great trainer.

My dog Willow has been with Walkies & Waggytails daycare for the last 3 years and she loves it! I was nervous about putting Willow into daycare as she was already 7 and hadn’t been in daycare before. Now I can’t imagine her not going, she runs excitedly to the door in the morning & doesn’t look back. She has so much fun going to parks and places, I haven’t time to take her too, with her doggy friends. And I know she\’s safe and professionally looked after too. I couldn’t ask for more.

Paula’s training classes are amazing. My dog loves going! We both have such great fun together as well as learning new skills. Also I’ve been able to tackle any problem behaviours. Paula’s knowledge and skill as a trainer is only matched by her love and intuitive understanding of dogs. She’s excellent at teaching people too, teaching owners with patience and humour, always.
